THE SQUIRREL CAGE
THE SQUIRREL CAGE is based on the short story of the same name included in the book Fun With Your New Head by Thomas Disch.
A single character is held captive by some unknown entity. Law enforcement? Foreign country? Aliens? Is he there for punishment, examination, or entertainment?
The performer is surrounded on stage by an unseen and unheard (by him) circle of musicians who play in reaction to his musings.
Robin Willoughby adapted the story for the stage.
